wet plate in studio
I have been shooting in the studio lately, enjoying working with wet plate in a more stable, controlled environment - but trying to let go of any literal steering of content in a particular direction - with the result of having no idea what I am doing. I am trying to keep Calvin's situation, especially the uncertainty, in my mind - but only as a vague association, one that I hope is driving my decisions in a very unconscious or barely conscious way. Shooting the plates is still an exercise in guessing and being surprised at outcomes. Each is an 8x10 in ambrotype.
